Joe has been a great supporter of local beekeeping here at the shore.
The hive I chose for this adoption has a history of survival the past 3 years under many difficult conditions.
The hive is located in Little Egg Harbor for the winter.
This hive has been prolific during the 2011 season.
We were successful
at making 3 additional hive from this queen line.
I was also able to collect
over 40 lbs of spring/summer honey from this hive.
Plenty of summer/fall
honey left for the winter.
As of February 2012 the hive is alive and well
and comes out on warm sunny days.
